  • Dishonest Leslie business practices

After speaking with the district manager, he was still not going to reimburse me for anything. He made excuses like perhaps your copper pipes caused the water to turn green. Or maybe your filter or pumps are bad and then tried to sell me $3800 for three new pumps. This company is dishonest and perhaps even incompetent in some aspect by the fact that they attempt to gain your confidence and then rape you on the sale if you are not knowledgeable enough to see it coming or about the chemicals. I would be satisfied for a refund of $431 in original chemicals purchased or by the fact... More...
  • Don't Buy Leslies' Lies

After buying more than $400 worth of 25-50% over-priced chemicals from this company plus additional $180 in electricity costs, the Leslie's clerks and managers kept on selling and attempting to sell more products after they could not solve one problem. All three stores as is with their company policy is to over-sell products even if they are not needed. I spent close to $600 in 6 weeks attempting to clear the green which was not algae but excessive hardness and metals causing the water to turn emerald green. The store clerks and managers said they cannot tell a person to drain a pool... More...

Highway robbery. Heater quoted from Leslie's at $2000 , online with free shipping from amazon at 1200 ! Don't buy from these crooks. A pump installed a year ago stopped working. Apparently they installed a USED pump but charged $414 for a new one. To fix it, they want another visit for at least $105, and then parts&labor. Compared with my pool guy who will install a new pump for $320 . BEWARE!!!!!! More...

  • Non-existent follow though

I needed a security pool inground cover and called Leslie's since the local pool service place in Connecticut seems to charge astronomical prices for any service that they provide. Leslie's pool retail store in North Haven CT instructed me to contact the 1800 general customer service # to have this service initiated. The 1800 people exclaimed that I should call the store and they would help me. (Seems like these people are a bit confused). Well, I contacted the store and was told to "come down" and show them the shape of the pool which I cleary said was rectangular and... More...

  • Pool pump not working

Our fairly new pool pump was not working and needed to be looked at. I was told by other pool owners not to have Leslie's come out because they had not had good experiences but we bought our system through Leslie's so I called our local store in Lafayette and asked them for help. Kyle referred me to Frank at the service department who came out and found the problem in less than 2 minutes. A very knowledgable guy, pleasant and professional. I would definitely feel confident in trusting him with any of my pool issues! Workers like Frank are hard to come by these days. More...

  • Leslie's bad service

You may think when you call Leslie's technician for repair, you will be dealing with professional who knows their job. I wanted to change light to my pool. I was told by their management that I need a technician to fist come to my place and evaluate the pool. I was charged $82 and the technician did not know his stuff. He wasted my time and work, charged $82 and could believe that he know what he was talking about. He gave me an estimate. I called his manager to express my dissatisfaction. So the manager visited my home and all he did is to raise the estimate. I asked for my... More...

  • Holy Extortion Ripoff!

A tiny plastic Hayward pressure valve costs $38 before tax, $41 out the door, at Leslie's Pool Supply and it can be ordered online for 21-25 with shipping. I'm not a communist but I don't condone rape either. This after the associate without licensing or a chemistry background tells a poor guy his pool will fail and turn green if he goes on vacation for 10 days. If lying was illegal there'd be no one left to run this company, and no republicans in congress either. More...

  • Customer service is not a priority with Leslie's Pool Supplies

I am so surprised that in this day and age, bad customer service still exists. On Thursday, I had Leslie's come out to replace a filter cartidge. I went to work, but left access to the pool hut. When I came home that night, my pool's water level had dropped 3 inches, and the pump housing is hemorrhaging water. I called Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and they are closed on Sunday. Here we are on Monday...no word from ANYONE at the company to resolve why the replacing of a filter cartridge has resulted in a broken pump. Even though we have used our local store in San... More...

  • Leslie's Pool Service

We have been using Leslie's Pool Service for some time - We recently had a problem with a component on our pool equipment. I told the service people what the problem was and the part. It took them almost 2 weeks to come check on our pool (it was already turning green because we could not use our equipment) and the service person said he would have to order the part. This was Wednesday and he said they would not have the part until Saturday. I asked him where the part comes from and he did not answer. He came out Saturday and said he fixed everything except one item and proceeded to... More...

  • Constently trying to upsell unnecessary products

This store constantly tries to upsell you products you don't need. They also trash competitor products. For example, Leslie's 3" tabs have exactly the same ingredients as Sam's Club tabs; but at Sam's Club they cost 50% less! The store manager Wayne said that Sam's Club tabs have fillers. NOT true. In fact, the tabs are manufactured by the same company! The only difference is the packaging. Use Leslie's for their free water tests. Then look at the containers of products they recommend and take a picture of its ingredients. Then go buy your... More...

I just wanted to say that in my opinion Leslies Pool Supplies website is structured so un knowing customers are charged and shipped items they did not order. I sold my house and my new home does not have a pool. In late winter when the products were on sale I had purchased a bucket of 3%u2019 Jumbo Chlorine Tabs (unopened) and a box of Power Powder Plus - pool shock (unopened) . • Service of Pool Filter

Several years ago, I had Leslie's pool supply replace all piping, pool filter and pump for our pool. I called them last week to ask that they come out clean the filter and inspect all of the equipment to make sure it was ready for summer. I also asked that they install LED lights to replace the existing lights. They arrived on Tuesday. Pulled the filter assembly and determined it needed to be replaced. Naturally my warranty period had expired. I asked them to give me a price to replace the filter assembly. The price quoted was more than a total new filter unit! I buy all of my... More...

We have been longstanding customers of Leslies Pool supplies and have been pleased with their services until recently when I ordered incorrectly Chlorine tablets instead of Chlorbrite. When attempting to correct the order and determine how we could return the product we have not been given answers, just the run around with no one giving us direction what can be done. Leslie's has the worst customer service of any company that I have experieced. • Double service charge and trip charge for repair

Service Department. A service tech came out and unclogged my pool pump on Dec. 2, 2013 which was filled with leaves. It took him 20 minutes. I asked him to also replace a sticking ball valve I had discussed with him on his last visit. He told me the ball valve is a standard item to carry but he didn't happen to have one that day. I called the service department two days later to see when he was coming back. They told me Sean (the tech) had left the company and that to replace the ball valve they would charge me another trip charge and another labor charge. That's a ripoff. More...

I went to Leslie's Pool in Warwick, RI to purchase parts for my filter. While I was there, I decided to pickup some shock. I checked with the salesman to make sure I was buying the correct product for a pool using chlorine free chemicals which he said I was. When I was ready to use the product, almost a month passed. The employees and manager in the Hazlet, NJ store are terrible at what they do and appear as though they do not want to be there. I had a late start in opening my pool and after changing the sand, shocking, and adding algaecide, I was not seeing any results in cleaning the water. We purchase the Hayward automatic pool cleaner which was advertised to clean my entire pool, but it was defective, and Leslie's pools would not refund me, or make it right. On 5 june I purchased a hand rail for my pool. I paid for all parts and installation at that time. 14 June I found a service card on my door stating that they were here at 2:30 and I would have to reschedule my appointment. First of all no one notified me that they would be here on 14 June. I rescheduled my appointment and was told the rail would be installed on 21 June. Well the man came looked at the pool and told me he would schedule an install date. He tried calling Phoenix office but got no response, although they are suppose to be working. This not very good customer service, especially when you paid an large sum to get this all taken care of. I am really dissatisfied with this service.

Got the store 99 on the line and she arranged to have them come back the next day at no service charge. We would have to pay for any parts etc. Man came and did not take the top off nor did he open the heater door to check out. He just turned it on and left. So two trips and nothing requested done.Paid $120 dollars for nothing Terrible service and would caution any one in using Leslies in the west valley or probably any ewhere..

Reading over these comments, there seem to be more than a few people who seem to have expected more from the company and didn't get it. With pool service (as with any service) it's important to be clear about what you expect in a service or a return policy. I've been burned a number of times by thinking that everyone was on the same page without clearly specifying what my page was. Good luck to everyone with their pool problems.

I bought a new motor for my pool from Leslie's talked to the manager at the store in Odessa, Tx told him this was the 4th motor in 5 years we have had to replace he said it was because the seal leaks and he could put it in and guaratees it would last at least 1 year we had him do that, this was in May of 2011 in August the pump went out again and they would not warranty it even though it is supposedly warratied for 1 year and they are rude when you go into the store this is the worst customer service ever! I will not buy from them again!!

I purchased a Solar Cover from Leslies Tucson - #3 202, In Feb of 2009. I was told that there was a 5 year warranty on the cover and to return it if it did not hold up. In 6-2010, I returned it because the bubbles were breaking down little pieces of blue plastic was floating around in the pool. With no questions asked, the store gave me a new cover. Now it is July of 2011 and the same problem is happening. This time the manager of the store told me that only the seam is warrantied and I should never have gotten a new replacement. She said "they are not good covers as they don't hold up". If I had been told this 2 years ago, I would not have invested the money in that cover. I would like Leslies to at least honor their 5 year warranty or give me a substantial savings on a cover that will hold up.

ok lets get this right. No one is perfect but you people that own pools should smart in up. Number one if you have to come in and get your water tested 95% of you should not have a pool. Number two if your pool turns green you dont know what your doing and should not have a pool. Number three if you dont have time to read how to clean and chem to your pool pay some one else. Number four If you have problems with you pool its your fault for not taking the time to do it right. So on those busy days in the summer when you are waiting for service in the stores just look around at all the people with the same problem and know you should never have owned a pool . And you should thank every employee for being there taking your rude crap

I have finally came to distrust anything a Leslies Associate tells me when it comes to questions about pool maintenance. I simply wanted to know how many gph my Matrix Filter Pump produced. I was trying to estimate what I would need for installing an above ground generator on my pool. Instead of helping me get an answer, he immediately reminded me that he was closing and was in the middle of counting down his drawers. Then he went on to trash the Porduct that I had purchased and said that they don't make Chlorine Generators for Above Ground Pools that are any good. Yet i am seeing hundreds of positive reviews about the Intex Chlorine Generator that I ended up buying. So sorry to say I will no longer be throwing my money away on Pool Chemeicals at Leslies. And SO SORRY that I called AFTER Business Hours!!!! I guess they don't want the business that much!!!

All you people saying negative thing about the customer service, tech, equipment need to get alife. It seems that you dont have anything else to do else than talking shit about how each person works and talks. What you guys usually want from they employees is to be kissing your ass. Just get a life instead of talking shit about others.

I have had problems with these guys as well. My sand filter went of the blink and they keep delaying the repairs and it is covered by a warrenty! This is costing me money to take off work because these guys don't have their "act together." Poor customer service, poor response time, excusses for everything! Store number 649 in Sierra Vista, AZ is a problem store!

Don't use Leslie's Pool Techs!! I made an appointment. Was told that he would be at my house sometime between 12 and 5, and he NEVER showed up. When I called at 5:30, I was told that he did come and I wasn't home. I have 4 dogs. There is no way he could have even come on my property without me knowing about it, not to mention that I spent the afternoon watching out for him from my livingroom windows. I didn't get any support or empathy from the service dept. and when I wanted to speak to a manager, I was given to a dispatcher. I asked for a manager, and was sent to his voice mail. P.S. I still have not heard from him!
