  • Betty has a problem with the truth!

I sold my house and my new home does not have a pool. In late winter when the products were on sale I had purchased a bucket of 3%u2019 Jumbo Chlorine Tabs (unopened) and a box of Power Powder Plus - pool shock (unopened) . I do try to be thrifty and enjoy saving $$. So when I tried to return the unopened products to the store on Greenway and Tatum I was informed they do not take chemicals back, with or without a receipt! Rather beat up verbally the clerk %u2018Wesley%u2018, I went home and call the corporate office. I was connected to Betty. She curtly and very rehearsed informed me that... More...

  • Service of Pool Filter

Several years ago, I had Leslie's pool supply replace all piping, pool filter and pump for our pool. I called them last week to ask that they come out clean the filter and inspect all of the equipment to make sure it was ready for summer. I also asked that they install LED lights to replace the existing lights. They arrived on Tuesday. Pulled the filter assembly and determined it needed to be replaced. Naturally my warranty period had expired. I asked them to give me a price to replace the filter assembly. The price quoted was more than a total new filter unit! I buy all of my... More...

  • Order for chlorine

We have been longstanding customers of Leslies Pool supplies and have been pleased with their services until recently when I ordered incorrectly Chlorine tablets instead of Chlorbrite. When attempting to correct the order and determine how we could return the product we have not been given answers, just the run around with no one giving us direction what can be done. Now we are getting no responses which I could perhaps understand if I had been rude however that is not the case. I am now researching where else I can get pool supplies only because no one is giving us answers. Too bad. More...

  • Defective Hayward $1500 pump

Leslie's has the worst customer service of any company that I have experieced. I had to wait 2 weeks for a service call , the whole time the the pool is turning black and green......but they don't seem to care about that. The technician said everything was fine and wouldn't show up so Leslie's service in the Palm Springs , CA area wanted me to wait a whole month for the tech to come back......as he was supposedly all booked up. So that is 6 weeks with a defective pump that would not work......By now the water is completely black.....but Leslie's could care less. So... More...

  • Double service charge and trip charge for repair

Service Department. A service tech came out and unclogged my pool pump on Dec. 2, 2013 which was filled with leaves. It took him 20 minutes. I asked him to also replace a sticking ball valve I had discussed with him on his last visit. He told me the ball valve is a standard item to carry but he didn't happen to have one that day. I called the service department two days later to see when he was coming back. They told me Sean (the tech) had left the company and that to replace the ball valve they would charge me another trip charge and another labor charge. That's a ripoff. More...

I have circulation problems after a new de filter was installed on oct.30 2013. I have been trying to get these resolved before a freeze. I have been stiffed on a scheduled repair after waiting for the technician all day without a call until well after the scheduled time promised. This is not what I spent $1500 dollars to worry about. The technician Al called me to inform me he could not get to me until Friday dec.6th. This will be to late to save my pool from freezing which is scheduled to come in on Thursday the 5th. • sold wrong chemicals for my pool

I went to Leslie's Pool in Warwick, RI to purchase parts for my filter. While I was there, I decided to pickup some shock. I checked with the salesman to make sure I was buying the correct product for a pool using chlorine free chemicals which he said I was. When I was ready to use the product, almost a month passed. I poured the first packet into the pool and noticed it stated not for use with chlorine free chemicals. I took the other packet back and was told I couldn't return chemicals, plus 14-days had elapsed. I was so upset because it wasn't my fault I was sold the... More...

  • pool cleaner supplies and water balance

I went to Leslies on Douglas Road in Roseville asking for assistance in balancing water levels. The seasoned employee took my water sample and very cautiously conducted all of the appropriate tests. I am a social worker, so I am generally a little chatty. This worker did not speak during the testing. He would ask additional questions ie.. " Are you going through a lot of chlorie etc..." After he completed his test, still nt saying a word, he proceeded to walk directly to the chemical isle. He used his highlighter to show me the names of chemiclas that I needed and the... More...

  • Customer Service is terrible

The employees and manager in the Hazlet, NJ store are terrible at what they do and appear as though they do not want to be there. I had a late start in opening my pool and after changing the sand, shocking, and adding algaecide, I was not seeing any results in cleaning the water. I took a sample to a young uninterested employee. She spoke to me like a robot, asking the usual questions, not caring a bit about my issue. I did this every day for a week and NOBODY took an interest, other than selling me more chemicals. Try this, try that. I will no longer patronize Leslie Pools until they clean... More...

  • Leslies defective Hayward automatic pool cleaner

We purchase the Hayward automatic pool cleaner which was advertised to clean my entire pool, but it was defective, and Leslie's pools would not refund me, or make it right. Leslie's and Hayward pool cleaner has false advertising to say that the automatic cleaner cleans to entire pool, as the pool cleaner just cleaned in a straight line and then went to the deep end of the pool and just sat there, not even moving. When i went back to the store two months later to get a refund, they stated they only have a two week refund policy! We had not used the pool cleaner for several weeks... More...

We were having trouble with the spa turning itself off and not getting hot enough. Called Leslie's store number 390. Their representative (Efren) came out and told us that we needed several parts. I have the numbers if you care. He said they had to order the parts, gave me a price for parts and labor and asked me to sign the work order/invoice which I did. He left an came back almost instantly and said his boss told him to test the water for Calcium. He took a test sample with him. • Leslies Pool, worst customer service ever Greensboro, NC Wendover

I went to Lesies Pool Supplies to get a few things, I had to wait about 45 min. with my purchase on the counter, while the manager waited on another customer who had been there , he said " for two hours". So I waited patiently while other CUSTOMERS came and went. When my turn came to check out another customer walked in put her sample on the counter and the manager proceeded to wait on her. I did wait a bit longer because I didn't know if the product would be available at Lowes. This is not my worst experience at Leslie's Pools but its not my only one either. It's... More...

  • Leslies pool doesn't honor online pricing

I have been a customer for years at the Parma Ohio location and have never had an issue until last week. I needed chlorine and found it online at Leslies for $84.99 so I went to the store to purchase it and found the in store price was $99.99. I asked the 16 year old that was close by to see why the price was $15.00 more here and he replied "what is the online price with shipping? They probably don't have to pay rent for a building like we do" What? Is this guy for real. I checked while standing in the store and found out with shipping the cost was still $10.00 cheaper than... Beware the "bring your water in for testing" scheme they have. I did that, and while waiting over half an hour noticed that every person was told they needed hundreds of $$ in chemicals to make their pools right. In my case the tab was $200. I did exactly as instructed, over 3 days, and water was no clearer, better, or more usable. In talking with two diff. pool company owners/experts, they laughed and said "ha ha we hear this all the time." It's a money making scheme. Skip the water testing and just keep your pool chlorinated, shock as needed, and you'll... More...

  • On-line product purchase, will not allow return

Purchased Pool Paint at Leslie's On-line ordering using manufacturers calculations and ended up having product left over. Leslie's will not allow me to return unopened and unused product. They also do not allow the product to be returned a retail store. This is bad customer service so beware. They were glad enough to take my money for ordering too much product but it is quite a different story when I want to return the over sold product. Service person(Robert) was surly and sloppy. He changed the sand in the filter and left stains all over the flagstone and cool deck. He also dumped sand on my lawn and left it there. When he came in for payment I asked if it was customary for the sand to be left on my lawn. He said no and asked if I had a shovel. Gave him a shovel and he removed some of it. Luckily I have a power washer and the stains came out(in 102 degree weather). He has no customer service skills and I won't be using Leslie's for anymore service. The service call # was1655144. Never again. Ordered service to check and clean heater and turn it on.Techician cleaned the filter which my pool man just did two weeks beforee. I called 800 number and Norma was just great. Got the store 99 on the line and she arranged to have them come back the next day at no service charge. We would have to pay for any parts etc. Man came and did not take the top off nor did he open the heater door to check out. He just turned it on and left. So two trips and nothing requested done.Paid $120 dollars for nothing Terrible service and would caution any one in using Leslies in the west valley or probably any ewhere..

Reading over these comments, there seem to be more than a few people who seem to have expected more from the company and didn't get it. With pool service (as with any service) it's important to be clear about what you expect in a service or a return policy. I've been burned a number of times by thinking that everyone was on the same page without clearly specifying what my page was. Good luck to everyone with their pool problems.

I bought a new motor for my pool from Leslie's talked to the manager at the store in Odessa, Tx told him this was the 4th motor in 5 years we have had to replace he said it was because the seal leaks and he could put it in and guaratees it would last at least 1 year we had him do that, this was in May of 2011 in August the pump went out again and they would not warranty it even though it is supposedly warratied for 1 year and they are rude when you go into the store this is the worst customer service ever! I will not buy from them again!!

I purchased a Solar Cover from Leslies Tucson - #3 202, In Feb of 2009. I was told that there was a 5 year warranty on the cover and to return it if it did not hold up. In 6-2010, I returned it because the bubbles were breaking down little pieces of blue plastic was floating around in the pool. With no questions asked, the store gave me a new cover. Now it is July of 2011 and the same problem is happening. This time the manager of the store told me that only the seam is warrantied and I should never have gotten a new replacement. She said "they are not good covers as they don't hold up". If I had been told this 2 years ago, I would not have invested the money in that cover. I would like Leslies to at least honor their 5 year warranty or give me a substantial savings on a cover that will hold up.

ok lets get this right. No one is perfect but you people that own pools should smart in up. Number one if you have to come in and get your water tested 95% of you should not have a pool. Number two if your pool turns green you dont know what your doing and should not have a pool. Number three if you dont have time to read how to clean and chem to your pool pay some one else. Number four If you have problems with you pool its your fault for not taking the time to do it right. So on those busy days in the summer when you are waiting for service in the stores just look around at all the people with the same problem and know you should never have owned a pool . And you should thank every employee for being there taking your rude crap

I have finally came to distrust anything a Leslies Associate tells me when it comes to questions about pool maintenance. I simply wanted to know how many gph my Matrix Filter Pump produced. I was trying to estimate what I would need for installing an above ground generator on my pool. Instead of helping me get an answer, he immediately reminded me that he was closing and was in the middle of counting down his drawers. Then he went on to trash the Porduct that I had purchased and said that they don't make Chlorine Generators for Above Ground Pools that are any good. Yet i am seeing hundreds of positive reviews about the Intex Chlorine Generator that I ended up buying. So sorry to say I will no longer be throwing my money away on Pool Chemeicals at Leslies. And SO SORRY that I called AFTER Business Hours!!!! I guess they don't want the business that much!!!

All you people saying negative thing about the customer service, tech, equipment need to get alife. It seems that you dont have anything else to do else than talking shit about how each person works and talks. What you guys usually want from they employees is to be kissing your ass. Just get a life instead of talking shit about others.

I have had problems with these guys as well. My sand filter went of the blink and they keep delaying the repairs and it is covered by a warrenty! This is costing me money to take off work because these guys don't have their "act together." Poor customer service, poor response time, excusses for everything! Store number 649 in Sierra Vista, AZ is a problem store!

Don't use Leslie's Pool Techs!! I made an appointment. Was told that he would be at my house sometime between 12 and 5, and he NEVER showed up. When I called at 5:30, I was told that he did come and I wasn't home. I have 4 dogs. There is no way he could have even come on my property without me knowing about it, not to mention that I spent the afternoon watching out for him from my livingroom windows. I didn't get any support or empathy from the service dept. and when I wanted to speak to a manager, I was given to a dispatcher. I asked for a manager, and was sent to his voice mail. P.S. I still have not heard from him!
